Chris Gayle Did the Magic for Royal Challengers Bangalore

Royal Challengers Bangalore put on a great victory against Kings XI Punjab at the Chinnaswamy stadium on Wednesday. The day belonged to Chris Gayle and it was his fifth IPL century. The century came in just 46 balls and the batting was worth watching. He scored whooping 117 runs out of just 57 balls and with this century, Gayle reached 300 runs in the IPL8. He won man of the match award and RCB won by a huge margin of 138 runs. With this win, RCB climbed at no. 3 in the IPL rankings ahead of Kolkata Knight Riders.Chris Gayle In Action

Gayle put on a partnership of 119 runs with skipper Virat Kohli and 71 runs with AB De-Villiers. Gayle said that Kings XI Punjab bowlers bowled really well and during the death overs they were really very good. He further said that he is highly impressed with bowling of speedster Sandeep Sharma. The left handed batsmen from West Indies and regarded as one of the finest batsmen of T20 format and he proved it on Wednesday. He started cautiously against bowler Sandeep Sharma in the first over but from second over onward he started bang-bang against all the bowlers of Kings XI Punjab.

RCB came to bat first and since the second over it looked like Gayle came with a preparation to knock down the opponents. He along with the skipper made a partnership of 71 runs just when Kohli was bowled by Sandeep on 32 runs. De-Villiers came and he scored 47 runs of just 24 balls. Gayle and AB formed a partnership of 119 runs and it was in 18th over when Gayle was sent to pavilion by young bowler Akshar Patel. Wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik marked an early exit. AB remained not out and RCB scored 226 runs with the loss of 3 wickets.

Kings XI Punjab came to bat and the pressure was already mounting with the mammoth target. In the first over itself Manan Vohra got out by Starc and Murli Vijay too went to pavilion early being bowled by Harshal Patel. Sreenath Aravind and Mitchell Starc stole the show with their bowling grabbing 4 wickets each. Kings XI Punjab at a score of 88 which is the lowest in the entire series. In merely 13 over match was finished by RCB.
